The Epidemiology Unit reports that the tally of dengue cases for 2024 has exceeded 21,000.
As of April 13, a total of 21,028 cases have been recorded, with the Colombo district reporting the highest number at 4,527.
The Western Province leads in province-wise cases with 7,547 reported instances, while April alone has seen 989 new Dengue cases.
With significant rainfall experienced in various parts of Sri Lanka over the past few days, health officials emphasize the importance of maintaining clean surroundings and eliminating mosquito breeding sites to prevent dengue outbreaks.
