The presidential candidate of the ‘Sarvajana Balaya’ alliance, Dilith Jayaweera, stated that his group is the only one presenting a fresh and innovative program for the people of Sri Lanka.
Speaking at a press conference held in Colombo, Jayaweera criticized other parties contesting the presidential election for attempting to reintroduce their outdated policies.
“The country is demanding something new, and we stand for that. No other party has proposed anything different. Our strategic plan offers a unique approach, and we urge the people of Sri Lanka to look at this new vision from a fresh perspective,” Jayaweera said.
When asked about how ‘Sarvajana Balaya’ differs from the National People’s Power (NPP), which many people follow in hopes of change, Jayaweera responded, “I question the so-called difference highlighted by the Janatha Vimukti Peramuna (JVP). If it’s not in Anura Kumara’s speeches, where else is this difference?”
He further questioned, “If they are on stage sowing the seeds of hatred as before, without proposing any new strategy, and if they continue to speak about dismantling the old order without a clear plan—how can the people trust them? If Lalkanta, Harini, Vijitha Herath, and Sandun Netthi are merely repackaging old ideas with even more hostility, where is the change?”
