Dilith Jayaweera, leader of the Mawbima Janatha Party (MJP) and a prominent entrepreneur, deposited his candidacy fee at the Election Commission this morning (August 13) to run in the upcoming Presidential Election.
Jayaweera will represent the ‘Sarvajana Balaya’ alliance in the 2024 presidential race. The occasion was attended by several alliance members, including MP Udaya Gammanpila.
On August 4, MP Wimal Weerawansa, an executive member of ‘Sarvajana Balaya,’ announced Jayaweera as the presidential candidate for the alliance during a convention at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium in Colombo.
