Education Ministry Issues Circular to Manage School Social Media Groups

The Ministry of Education has issued a circular instructing school principals and relevant education authorities to monitor and mitigate the negative impacts of school social media groups, which were introduced following the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to the circular, concerns have been raised about the adverse effects of student groups on platforms such as WhatsApp, Viber, and Telegram. As a preventive measure, principals and education authorities are directed to act as administrators of these groups to minimize such issues.

The Secretary to the Education Ministry has issued this circular to all provincial chief secretaries, provincial education secretaries, provincial education directors, zonal education directors, divisional education directors, school principals, and Piriven administrators.
