Election Commission Requests Removal of 800+ Social Media Posts for Election Law Violations

The Election Commission has called for the removal of over 800 social media posts that violate election laws during the 2024 Presidential Polls.

In an official statement, the National Election Commission (NEC) revealed that it has lodged complaints with platforms including Meta, YouTube, TikTok, and Google following thorough investigations into these violations.

So far, 121 links have been successfully removed from social media, while 116 links remain active as the platforms determined they did not breach their community guidelines. The NEC also noted that it is still awaiting responses regarding complaints involving over 500 additional links.
