Chairman of the Election Commission, R.M.A.L. Rathnayake, has called on all voters in Sri Lanka to exercise their franchise in the upcoming General Election.
Emphasizing that voting is a constitutional right, Rathnayake reminded the public of their responsibility to cast their votes. “Voting is a right provided to you by the Constitution itself. Therefore, it is your responsibility to exercise that right. The vote is your right. The vote is your power,” he stated.
He urged voters to head to polling stations on November 14 and use their valuable vote between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
