The Department of Excise has issued final notices to liquor manufacturers, demanding the settlement of unpaid taxes by November 30.
According to the department, nearly 10 companies are in arrears, with a total outstanding amount of Rs. 8.5 billion. The dues for the 2023-2024 period alone account for approximately Rs. 1.8 billion.
The Department of Excise has warned that legal action will be taken against any company that fails to make payment by the November 30 deadline.
