The Foreign Employment Bureau has disbursed Rs. 105.6 million as compensation to individuals who fell victim to overseas employment scams over the past year.
This compensation comes in response to legal actions taken against individuals and unauthorized agencies involved in fraudulent foreign employment schemes.
These legal actions were initiated following special raids and complaints received by the Bureau. In the past nine months alone, 570 complaints were filed, resulting in the arrest of 104 individuals.
The Bureau has also launched a public hotline, 1989, to report similar incidents and provide assistance.
