Former MPs Required to Declare Assets Within Two Years of Retirement Under New Anti-Corruption Act

The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption has mandated that Members of Parliament must declare their assets and liabilities within two years of retirement, as stipulated by the newly enacted Anti-Corruption Act.

The Commission also announced that an initial report on these declarations must be submitted to Parliament within two weeks. Afterward, former parliamentarians will have a two-year window to disclose any additional assets and liabilities.

Notably, many former Members of Parliament have opted not to contest in the upcoming general election.
