Bonds have been placed today (12) on behalf of former Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe to contest in the 2024 Presidential Election as an independent candidate.
Aloka Ranasinghe, a relative of the ex-minister, has made the cash deposit on his behalf.
On Sunday (11), Roshan Ranasinghe announced his presidential candidacy while addressing a function held at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute.
The Presidential Election is scheduled for September 21, with nominations to be accepted on August 15, 2024, as per a gazette extraordinary issued by the Election Commission of Sri Lanka.
