The Meteorology Department has forecast fairly heavy showers exceeding 75 mm in some areas of the Western and Sabaragamuwa Provinces, as well as in the Galle and Matara districts.
According to the department, showers or thundershowers will occur periodically in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North-Western Provinces, and in the Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Galle, and Matara districts. Showers or thundershowers are also expected in various other parts of the island during the evening or night.
Fairly strong winds of 30-40 kmph are anticipated over the Western slopes of the central hills and in the Northern, North-Central, and North-Western Provinces.
