Another 170 Sri Lankans have departed for South Korea for employment, the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) stated.
The SLBFE stated that the group, consisting of males and females, departed on Tuesday (Sep 05) via SriLankan Airlines flight UL 470.
A total of 4,556 Sri Lankans have been sent on employment to South Korea by the SLBFE within the first 08 months of this year.
Among the 3,565 Sri Lankans who had completed their service period, 991 persons had received re-entry to rejoin their previous employment in South Korea.
From the total number of Sri Lankans employed in South Korea, 3,774 Sri Lankans were in the manufacturing sector, 639 in the fisheries sector, 140 in the construction sector, and 3 persons in the agricultural sector.
The SLBFE added that the group consists of a total of 4,462 males and 94 females.
