In a demonstration of unwavering support, Santosh Jha, the Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, reiterated India’s commitment to being a “steadfast partner” in the country’s economic recovery during a recent meeting with Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe, the Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.
The focal point of the meeting was the “early launch” of the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) system in Sri Lanka. The discussions also delved into the “growth in Indian Rupee trade settlements.”
Significantly, the High Commissioner pledged India’s support in Sri Lanka’s ongoing debt restructuring process, further solidifying the bilateral cooperation between the two nations.
