Indian High Commissioner Gopal Baglay organized a farewell reception for members of the Sri Lankan parliament on Wednesday, December 6.
Expressing gratitude, Baglay stated, “We convey our gratitude to former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena, Ministers, Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa, and all MPs and officials who attended the event.”
As part of his diplomatic journey, Baglay will be departing for Australia to assume the role of the high commissioner of his country.
In Colombo, Baglay’s successor will be Indian diplomat Santosh Jha, currently serving as the Indian Ambassador to Belgium, Luxembourg, and the European Union.
