INS Kamorta Concludes Successful Visit to Sri Lanka

The Indian Naval Ship (INS) Kamorta, which arrived in Sri Lanka on June 20, 2024, departed the island on Monday following the completion of her formal visit. The Sri Lanka Navy bid a customary farewell to the departing ship at the port of Trincomalee in accordance with naval traditions.

During its stay, Commander Prashant Kumar Mishra, the Commanding Officer of INS Kamorta, paid a courtesy call on Rear Admiral Kanchana Banagoda, Commander Eastern Naval Area, at the Eastern Naval Command Headquarters on June 20.

Throughout its visit to Trincomalee, the crew of INS Kamorta engaged in various activities, including visits to local tourist attractions. They also participated in community events such as a yoga programme commemorating the International Day of Yoga and a beach cleaning drive. School children and Sri Lanka Navy personnel were welcomed aboard for ship visits as part of the engagement activities.

Before departing, INS Kamorta conducted a Passage Exercise (PASSEX) with SLNS Samudura in the eastern seas, focusing on communication and tactical maneuvering exercises. The exercise concluded with the traditional cheer ship salute, marking the successful conclusion of the visit.
