International Collaboration Initiated to Rescue Sri Lankan Youths from Myanmar Terror Camp

In a united effort to secure the release of Sri Lankan youths trapped in a terror camp in Myanmar, Ambassador Janaka Bandara has unveiled a joint initiative involving six nations.

Ambassador Bandara revealed that the mission is actively collaborating with India, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Thailand, and Nepal to facilitate the safe return of the captive Sri Lankans.

Recent developments in the distressing situation took a shocking turn as Ambassador Janaka Bandara disclosed new information during discussions with counterparts from the six nations. It was disclosed that over 200 Indian youths are also ensnared as cyber slaves in the camp.

In a hopeful sign of progress, Ambassador Bandara announced plans for talks with the Myanmar military Junta to negotiate the release of the Sri Lankan captives. Furthermore, a scheduled meeting between Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Ali Sabri and his Myanmar counterpart underscores intensified diplomatic efforts.

The situation gained complexity with allegations emerging that a group from Dubai is involved in selling Sri Lankans to the terrorist-controlled camp. Grieving parents have pointed fingers at a woman named Juana, accusing her of facilitating their children’s enslavement.

Highlighting the involvement of Chinese traffickers in this global ring, efforts persist to entice Sri Lankans into cyber slave camps. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) and Attorney-at-Law Nihal Thalduwa, the spokesperson for the Sri Lankan Police, confirmed an ongoing investigation into alleged irregular migration attempts involving one Chinese national and three Sri Lankan citizens.

SSP Thalduwa, addressing the media, stated that four related complaints are under investigation, emphasizing the need for individuals seeking overseas employment to adhere to established procedures between countries rather than resorting to irregular methods.
