Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Rohan Premaratne, previously in charge of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), has been transferred to serve as DIG of the Western Province (North).
Simultaneously, DIG P. Ampavila has been appointed as the new DIG of the CID Range. Prior to this, he oversaw the Financial Intelligence Unit 02 at Police Headquarters, conducting investigations related to money laundering, as well as the Special Investigation Units at the Central Bank, focused on prohibited pyramid schemes and virtual currencies.
In other transfers, DIG D.P. Chandrasiri has been reassigned from Galle Range to another DIG Range, and DIG E.M.G.J. Seram will take over as DIG of Galle Range, having transferred from the Community Police and Environment Protection Range.
Additionally, WDIG Bimshani Jasingarachchi has been moved from Police Headquarters (Recruitment and Training Range) to serve as DIG of the Community Policing and Environment Protection Range.
These transfers have been approved by the National Police Commission, pending the consent of the Election Commission of Sri Lanka.
