Malaysia to Host Second Edition of ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup in 2025

The second edition of the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup will be hosted by Malaysia in 2025, featuring 16 teams from around the world. The tournament is set to take place from January 18 to February 2, 2025.

India, the champions of the inaugural edition after defeating England, will compete in Group A alongside hosts Malaysia, the West Indies, and Sri Lanka. Group B sees England facing neighbors Ireland, along with Pakistan and the USA.

South Africa, who hosted the previous edition, will be in Group C with New Zealand, Samoa, and an African qualifier. Group D includes Australia, Bangladesh, Scotland, and an Asian qualifier.

The tournament format includes a round-robin phase where each team will play three matches within their group. The top three teams from each group will advance to the Super Six stage, where they will be divided into two groups based on their group positions.

The Super Six teams will carry forward points, wins, and net run rates (NRRs) from the group stage. The top two teams from each Super Six group will qualify for the semi-finals, scheduled for January 31, with the final set for February 2 at Bayuemas Oval in Malaysia.

Group C: New Zealand, South Africa, Samoa, Africa Qualifier
Group D: Australia, Bangladesh, Scotland, Asia Qualifier

The semi-finals and the final will be held at Bayuemas Oval. If India qualifies for the semi-finals, they will play Semi-Final 2 on January 31 at 14:30 local time.

This edition promises to showcase rising talents in women’s cricket and continue the momentum gained from the inaugural tournament.
