The Meteorology Department announces that showers will occur at times in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, as well as in the Galle and Matara districts.
Several spells of showers may also occur in the North-western province and in the Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts.
Showers or thundershowers are possible in a few places in the Uva province and in the Ampara and Batticaloa districts during the evening or night.
Strong winds, ranging from 40-50 kmph, are expected at times over the western slopes of the central hills, and in the Northern, North-central, and North-western provinces, as well as in the Trincomalee, Hambantota, and Monaragala districts.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
