The Department of Meteorology has forecasted showers or thundershowers in the Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, Uva, and North-western provinces during the evening or night.
Fairly heavy showers, with rainfall amounts of around 75 mm, are likely in some areas of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and Central provinces.
Showers may also occur at a few places in the Northern and Eastern provinces in the morning.
The department also warned of misty conditions in parts of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, and Uva provinces, as well as in the Galle and Matara districts during the morning.
The general public is advised to take necessary precautions to minimize the risks posed by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
