The Ministry of Defence has refuted claims that security provided by the Tri-Forces and Civil Defence Force at religious sites across the country is being reduced.
At a special press conference held this afternoon (November 3), Major General Rasika Kumara, media spokesperson for the Sri Lanka Army, clarified that the government has not made any decision to decrease the security presence at these locations.
Major General Kumara further explained that any adjustment to the number of Tri-Forces personnel at religious sites occurs only when security assessments, conducted regularly by Army Headquarters, indicate that fewer personnel are necessary to ensure safety at a specific location. He reassured the public that these assessments are carefully analyzed to maintain adequate security at all religious places.
