Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) presidential candidate, MP Namal Rajapaksa, declared his readiness to prove the innocence of the ‘Rajapaksa government’ during a public rally in Kotikawatta yesterday (17).
Addressing the crowd, Rajapaksa emphasized the careful planning behind the government’s infrastructure and investment initiatives. “We didn’t build roads or housing apartments carelessly, nor did we bring in investors recklessly. Every investment was part of a plan and a vision for national development. We are accountable for every decision,” he stated.
He further asserted that the Rajapaksa family is prepared to face any international court if accused of corruption or theft. Referring to questions raised after the ‘Aragalaya’ movement, Rajapaksa said, “There is no blood on our hands. We have done nothing wrong.”
Despite negative perceptions, he expressed confidence in his ability to win public support. “There may be misunderstandings about us, but we have the strength to stand before the people and ask for their vote,” he affirmed.
Rajapaksa concluded by embracing the challenge of leading the country forward. “I love challenges, and I accept the challenge of building this nation and securing your child’s future. I will win that challenge,” he added.
