The Cabinet Ministers of Sri Lanka’s new government will take their oaths before President Anura Kumara Dissanayake tomorrow (Nov. 18) at 10:00 a.m. at the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo, according to the President’s Media Division (PMD).
National People’s Power (NPP) senior spokesperson Tilvin Silva previously stated that the Cabinet would be limited to 25 members or fewer, with a scientific approach in assigning ministry portfolios.
The inaugural session of the Tenth Parliament, consisting of members elected in the November 14, 2024 General Election, is set to commence on November 21, as outlined in Extraordinary Gazette Notification No. 2403/13, dated September 24, 2024.
The NPP achieved a historic victory in the Parliamentary elections on Friday (Nov. 15), winning a two-thirds majority with a total of 159 seats.
