The Department of Immigration and Emigration has introduced a new methodology for issuing passports to streamline the process and benefit applicants.
Applicants are now required to register in advance via the website www.immigration.gov.lk to apply for new passports.
According to the Immigration and Emigration Department, passports will be issued based on a priority system after online registration.
This new system is scheduled to commence next Friday (19th).
