Over 2,000 Complaints Filed Ahead of Sri Lanka’s Presidential Election

A total of 129 new complaints related to the upcoming presidential election have been reported, bringing the overall number of complaints to over 2,000.

According to the Election Commission, 2,098 complaints were received between July 31 and September 02. Of these, the National Centre for Election Complaint Management received 755 complaints, while the District Centres for Election Complaint Management handled 1,344 cases.

All complaints were categorized as legal breaches, including 14 incidents of violence.
