Postal Voting Applications for General Election Open Today

The Election Commission has announced that applications for postal voting for the upcoming General Election will be accepted starting today (October 1). The application period will run until October 8.

The 2024 certified voter list will be used for the General Election, scheduled for November 14, 2024. To assist postal voters, the Election Commission will display the 2024 voter lists for all electoral divisions across the island starting today.

These voter lists can be viewed at District Secretariats, Divisional Secretariats, Grama Niladhari Offices, and other selected locations.

Postal voting application forms are available free of charge at these locations, as well as at District Election Offices, and can also be downloaded from the Election Commission’s website.

The Election Commission reminds voters that completed applications must be submitted to the District Returning Officer of the relevant district no later than October 8.
