The Elections Commission has announced that officials assigned to duties for the 2024 Elpitiya Pradeshiya Sabha Election, along with ballot papers and ballot boxes, will depart for the relevant polling centers today (25).
A total of 55,643 eligible voters will cast their votes at 48 polling centers, with voting conducted based on the 2018 voter registration list, according to the commission.
The Election Commission’s chairman, R.M.A.L. Rathnayake, confirmed that polling will take place tomorrow (26) from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with all necessary security measures in place.
Additionally, the Executive Director of People’s Action for Free & Fair Elections (PAFFREL), Rohana Hettiarachchi, stated that their officials will monitor all polling stations during the election.
