President Ranil Wickremesinghe has instructed officials to devise a formal program aimed at maintaining essential services and public operations smoothly during the upcoming Sinhala and Tamil New Year season.
This initiative aims to ensure the uninterrupted operation of essential services, guaranteeing the public’s seamless access to vital amenities during the festive period.
Furthermore, the President has stressed the importance of collaborative efforts among institutions categorized as essential, including the Presidential Secretariat, the Prime Minister’s Office, and the Ministries of Defence, Health, Transport, as well as Power and Energy. These entities are urged to work together in developing the program to uphold service continuity effectively.
Additionally, in preparation for the Sinhala and Tamil New Year season, President Wickremesinghe has directed the security forces to implement a comprehensive program aimed at ensuring public security and maintaining law and order nationwide.
This directive underscores the government’s commitment to ensuring the well-being and convenience of the public during the festive season, while also prioritizing safety and security across the country.
