President’s Fund Nears Completion of Scholarships for 6,000 Economically Disadvantaged Students

The President’s Media Division (PMD) has announced that the President’s Fund is in the final stages of awarding scholarships to 6,000 economically disadvantaged students who successfully passed the G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination in 2022/2023. Payments for outstanding installments from March and April 2024 will be combined with the May payment, as stated by the PMD.

According to a statement released by the PMD, starting from March 2024, recipients of the scholarships will receive 24 monthly installments of Rs. 6,000 each.

The PMD further informed that the list of selected students will soon be published on the official website (www.presidentsfund.gov.lk). For additional details, interested parties can visit the President’s Fund official Facebook page (www.facebook.com/president.fund).

In addition to this initiative, the application period for the presidential scholarship program, aimed at assisting 100,000 students from grade 1 to grade 11 facing economic difficulties, has concluded. The PMD noted that the list of scholarship recipients is anticipated to be received by the President’s Fund at the regional level next month.

Upon receipt of the lists, the eligible students will begin receiving 12 monthly installments of Rs. 3,000 each, starting from May 2024, as outlined by the PMD.
