Prime Minister’s Office Suspends Board Meetings for Statutory Bodies and Government Institutions

Board meetings for statutory bodies and other government institutions have been suspended following a directive from the Prime Minister’s office.

According to Prime Minister’s Secretary Pradeep Saputhantri, the heads of institutions have been instructed to refrain from making any administrative decisions during this period.

While some boards have already appointed new chairpersons, the relevant ministers are responsible for appointing suitable heads for the remaining boards.

In the meantime, the secretaries of the Ministries of Justice, Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government, Labour, Women, Children and Youth Affairs, Sports, Trade, Commerce, Food Security, Cooperative Development, Industrial and Entrepreneurial Development, and Health have been notified to temporarily suspend board meetings of institutions under their jurisdiction.

Saputhantri also emphasized that it is the duty of the new ministers to appoint presidents and heads for these institutions.
