The registration period for students to apply for state universities based on their 2023 GCE Advanced Level (A/L) Examination results has officially concluded, according to the University Grants Commission (UGC).
Approximately 40,000 students successfully registered within the allotted timeframe, the UGC reported. Registration documents have already been forwarded to all medical faculties and the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Peradeniya to initiate the student enrollment process.
This year, over 43,000 students applied for admission to state universities. The UGC has confirmed that measures will be taken promptly to fill any vacant seats left by students who did not complete their registration.
