Samitha Dulan Kodithuwakku Wins Silver in Men’s F64 Javelin Finals, Sets New World Record

Samitha Dulan Kodithuwakku has achieved an extraordinary milestone by winning his second Paralympic medal in the Men’s F64 Javelin Finals. After securing a bronze in Tokyo, Kodithuwakku has now claimed the silver medal with a personal best throw of 67.03 meters.

This remarkable performance not only earned him the silver medal but also set a new world record in his classification (F44). Kodithuwakku had previously won a bronze medal at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games with a then personal best of 65.61 meters and another bronze at the 2023 World Para Athletics Championships in Paris, France.

Warrant Officer II K.A. Samitha Dulan, attached to the Sri Lanka Army Corps of Military Police, had earlier set a world record in the Para Javelin Throw F44 category with a distance of 66.49 meters at the Kobe 2024 Para Athletics World Championship in Japan. He secured the silver medal in the Para Javelin Throw event (F44/F64) while marking a world record in his representing category (F44).
