The Chief of Defence Staff, tri-forces commanders, and the Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) made courtesy calls on Defence Secretary Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd) at the Defence Headquarters Complex in Sri Jayewardenepura, Kotte.
The delegation included Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Shavendra Silva, Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage, Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera, Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa, and Acting IGP Senior DIG Priyantha Weerasooriya. Each leader met with the Defence Secretary on separate occasions.
During these meetings, Defence Secretary AVM Thuyacontha engaged in cordial discussions with the senior military officials and the Acting IGP. This marked the first official visit of these senior officers to Defence Secretary AVM Thuyacontha since he took office on September 23, 2024.
