The Meteorology Department has forecast showers at times in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, as well as in the Galle, Matara, Kandy, and Nuwara-Eliya districts. Fairly heavy rainfall, exceeding 50 mm, is likely in some areas.
Additionally, several spells of showers are anticipated in the North-Western province and the Matale district. Showers or thundershowers may also occur in a few places in the Badulla, Ampara, and Batticaloa districts during the evening or night.
Strong winds, reaching approximately 50 km/h, are expected at times over the western slopes of the central hills and in the Northern, North-Central, and North-Western provinces, as well as in the Trincomalee, Monaragala, and Hambantota districts. Fairly strong winds, between 30-40 km/h, may occur elsewhere on the island.
