The Meteorology Department has announced that showers or thundershowers are expected at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, North-Western, and Northern provinces, as well as in the Galle, Matara, Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, and Trincomalee districts.
Some areas in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, North-Western, and Northern provinces, along with Galle, Matara, and Trincomalee districts, may experience fairly heavy showers of around 75mm.
Showers or thundershowers are also expected in several other areas during the evening or night.
The public is advised to take necessary precautions to minimize damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
