The Department of Meteorology reports that showers or thundershowers are expected throughout the day in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North-Western provinces, as well as in the Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Galle, and Matara districts.
In addition, showers or thundershowers may occur in several areas in the Eastern and Uva provinces and in the Matale, Polonnaruwa, and Mullaittivu districts during the evening or night.
The public is kindly urged to take necessary precautions to minimize damage from temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
