Showers Expected in Several Provinces; Strong Winds Forecast in Some Areas: Meteorology Department

The Department of Meteorology forecasts several spells of showers today (September 8) in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North-western provinces, as well as in the districts of Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Galle, and Matara.

Additionally, the Northern Province may experience a few showers.

The department also warned of strong winds ranging from 40-50 kmph at times, particularly over the western slopes of the central hills, and in the Northern, North-central, and North-western provinces, as well as the Hambantota, Monaragala, and Trincomalee districts.
