The Speaker of Parliament, Mahinda Yapa Abeywardana, has endorsed the certificate on the “Economic Transformation Bill,” the Parliamentary Communications Department announced recently.
The Bill, aimed at providing provisions for the National Policy on Economic Transformation, was presented to Parliament on May 22, 2024.
On July 25, 2024, the Second Reading debate for the Bill took place in Parliament, after which the Bill was passed with amendments and without a vote.
Accordingly, this Bill will now be known as the Economic Transformation Act No. 45 of 2024, as stated by the Parliamentary Communications Department.
