Deputy Postmaster General Rajitha Ranasinghe announced that today (September 8) has been designated as a special day for the distribution of official polling cards, despite it being a weekend.
In a special statement, Ranasinghe noted that the Department of Posts has dedicated today for door-to-door delivery of official polling cards, operating from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
He urged residents to remain at home to collect their polling cards, as signatures are required to confirm receipt.
The Department of Posts further stated that approximately 3 million polling cards for the 2024 presidential election have been distributed so far. The distribution process, which began on September 3, is expected to continue until September 14.
