In a statement, Sri Lanka Cricket announced that National Men’s T20I Captain Wanindu Hasaranga has decided to resign from the captaincy.
According to Sri Lanka Cricket, Hasaranga stated that he believed relinquishing the captaincy duties was in the best interest of the team and the organization, and he would continue to contribute as a player.
In his resignation letter, Hasaranga assured that Sri Lanka would always have his utmost efforts as a player. He vowed to continue supporting his team and its leadership as he has always done.
Sri Lanka Cricket, while accepting his resignation, emphasized that Hasaranga will remain a crucial player in their international cricket plans.
