Ali Zaheer Maulana, the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress Batticaloa District Member of Parliament and a senior politician, has pledged his support to President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
Maulana, who met with the President at the Presidential Operations Office on Flower Road, Colombo, confirmed his backing for Wickremesinghe in the upcoming presidential election.
Ali Zaheer Maulana has been active in politics since 1988 and was first elected to Parliament in 1994.
