The Sri Lanka State Trading (General) Corporation announced that egg imports will recommence within the next 10 days. According to the corporation’s chairman, Asiri Walisundara, the procurement process is currently underway.
This decision follows recent Cabinet approval to import eggs, prompted by the sharp increase in local egg prices, which have exceeded Rs. 50. The plan is to import approximately 30 million eggs per month.
