Sri Lankan Delegation, Led by Secretary of Foreign Affairs Aruni Wijewardana, to Engage in 13th Round of Diplomatic Consultations with China

Aruni Wijewardana, Secretary of Foreign Affairs, will lead the Sri Lankan delegation in the upcoming 13th round of Diplomatic Consultations with the People’s Republic of China, scheduled for June 17 in Beijing. Co-chairing alongside Wijewardana will be China’s Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sun Weidong.

The consultations aim to comprehensively assess progress and advance bilateral cooperation across various sectors, including political relations, economic collaboration, trade, investment, and defense.

Accompanying Wijewardana will be Majintha Jayesinghe, Ambassador-Designate to Beijing, alongside senior officials from Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its Embassy in China.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that the previous 12th Round of Bilateral Political Consultations occurred on May 30 in Colombo, underscoring the continuity and importance of ongoing diplomatic engagements between the two nations
