The Supreme Court of Sri Lanka has upheld the Samagi Jana Balawegaya’s (SJB) decision to expel Ministers Manusha Nanayakkara and Harin Fernando from party membership.
The court affirmed that the SJB’s action was both legal and correct.
Simultaneously, the court dismissed the petitions filed by Nanayakkara and Fernando, which argued that the expulsion was unlawful.
The bench, consisting of Justices Vijith Malalgoda, Achala Wengappuli, and Arjuna Obeysekera, ruled against invalidating the party’s decision, thereby rejecting the petitions’ requests.
