Sri Lanka is set to kick off their comprehensive tour of Bangladesh next month, initiating with three T20 Internationals (T20Is) before progressing to One Day Internationals (ODIs) and Test series.
The three T20Is, scheduled in Sylhet, are strategically positioned to offer valuable preparation for both teams ahead of the T20 World Cup later this year in the West Indies and the United States.
Following the T20Is, the action shifts to Chattogram for a three-match ODI series on March 13, 15, and 18. Subsequently, the teams will engage in two Test matches, the first in Sylhet from March 22 to 26, and the second in Chattogram from March 30 to April 3. This provides an opportunity for both teams to resume their World Test Championship campaigns for the current cycle.
Sri Lanka, currently at the bottom of the World Test Championship points table, seeks redemption after losing both Tests in the previous cycle against Pakistan. On the other hand, Bangladesh, standing fourth, aims to build on their performance following a drawn two-match series against New Zealand.
