Sri Lanka’s Official Reserve Assets Surge by 9.5% in March 2024, Reaching USD 4.95 Billion

The Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) has reported a notable increase of 9.5% in Sri Lanka’s official reserve assets for the month of March 2024.

As per the CBSL’s announcement, the official reserve assets have escalated to USD 4.95 billion by March 2024.

This figure encompasses proceeds from the People’s Bank of China (POBC) SWAP amounting to USD 1.4 billion. However, the CBSL notes that these funds are contingent upon certain conditions regarding their usability.
