SriLankan Airlines Regains 7-Star Safety Rating After Swift Action on Cockpit Protocol Violation

SriLankan Airlines has regained its 7-star safety rating from AirlineRatings.com, an Australia-based aviation safety and product rating agency, following swift action taken against a pilot who violated cockpit protocol, the airline announced today.

The airline’s safety rating had previously been downgraded from seven to six stars due to an incident last September, where a captain reportedly locked his female co-pilot out of the cockpit during a 10-hour flight from Sydney to Colombo.

In response, SriLankan Airlines grounded the captain involved, and the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka launched an investigation to ensure adherence to safety regulations and protocols.
