The National Dengue Control Unit has reported a sharp increase in dengue cases over the past 18 days, with 2,373 new infections identified, bringing the total number of cases for the year to 35,118.
The Western Province is the most affected, accounting for 14,359 of the total cases. Tragically, 16 dengue-related deaths have been confirmed by the National Dengue Control Unit so far this year.
