The Welikada police have apprehended two Chinese nationals who were discovered engaging in the illicit filtration of kasippu (moonshine) in the Obesekarapura area of Rajagiriya. Shockingly, these individuals are reported to be employees associated with the Colombo Port City project.
These suspects had taken up residence in a rented house within the Obesekarapura locality, where, based on reliable information, it was suspected that the unlawful production of kasippu (moonshine) was taking place. Acting on this tip, law enforcement officials conducted a thorough raid on the premises.
During the operation, the police uncovered a staggering 250 liters of Goda, a locally produced spirit, alongside a cache of equipment specifically designed for the filtration of kasippu (moonshine), all found in the possession of the detained Chinese nationals.
