Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) Senior Vice President, MP Angajan Ramanathan, and the party’s former Acting General Secretary, Sarathi Dushmantha Mitrapala, have pledged their support to President Ranil Wickremesinghe, who is running as an independent candidate in this year’s presidential election.
The two SLFP leaders met with President Wickremesinghe earlier today at his Presidential Election Operation Office on Flower Road, officially joining his campaign to secure victory in the upcoming election.
MP Angajan Ramanathan, who first entered politics as a member of the Northern Provincial Council in 2013, was elected to Parliament via the National List in 2015 and won a seat representing the Jaffna district in the 2020 general election. He currently serves as a Senior Vice President of the SLFP and holds the position of Deputy Committee Chairman in Parliament.
Sarathi Dushmantha Mitrapala, who was first elected to Parliament from the Kegalle district in 2015, has previously served as the Acting Secretary General of the SLFP and is a current Central Committee member of the party.
